Kansas City Family: Charlie + Taunia + Jeremy

When Taunia gave me her ideas for the session, she mentioned that their son has a beautiful, old-fashion look and that she loved Norman Rockwell’s style.  LOVE IT!

How cute is that outfit?!  SOOOO handsome!I just want to mention that sometimes I randomly toss diet coke all over my clients who wear bright, white, pressed, nice shirts. EK!  This is a shot of poor Jeremy after a surprise attack from my diet coke.  MY BAD!  My real real bad.  Jeremy, I am so soo soooooo sorry again!  That’s for being so kind about my severely faulted grace.  I hope it came out. 🙂

Kansas City Weddings: Scott + Vanessa

Now this is a perfect way to start a wedding day…diamonds, donuts, coffee…and a mug to get inspired. 🙂

I just want to say…I was doing really good on my diet before someone brought these to Vanessa’s house that morning.  Stacey tried to give me encouragement to stay strong…but alas…my will power died about the 5th time I walked past and I got caught with donut-stuffed-cheeks. 🙂 YUM!Oh how bad I want this shirt!!!! If you’re happy and ya know it…dance in the drive way!!!

For Scott & Vanessa’s “first look” that day…Scott got a slightly different first look of Vanessa than he was expecting. BAHAHAHAHA  Oh Josh…you looked so beautiful.  😉Ok, ok…now with real Bride. 🙂This. cracks. me. up!HOT HOT POSSE!!!This sky + wide angle = slightly trippy viewAh yes…and the lovely ladies…sportin’ their lovely lookHey Vanessa, “WHY ARE YOU YELLING AT ME????” BAHAHAHAHAHAHA (the inside joke of the day)Hello HANDSOME!Vavavaboom!  As many times as I’ve been to Liberty Memorial…I’d never taken the trip up till Scott & Vanessa’s wedding.  Very cool view.We were already super behind on the time schedule, but I’m so sooo glad we made time for the IOU structure.  It’s just one of those things that add a little wow factor to a scene…and the sky was super fantastic as well.Remember my “Bun In The Oven” concept image a while ago?  Here’s that oven-baked-baby…proof there was no baby harmed in the making of that image.  🙂  I’m going to have to go out on a limb and say that Scott & Vanessa’s first dance was the more impressive first dance I’ve had the privileged of capturing.  I especially loved the end.  So sweet!Scott and his mom worked the dance floor something fierce.  All that fancy dancin’ makes me want to learn something more than the “Elaine Dance” someday.  Congrats Scott and Vanessa to a splendid wedding day and beginning of long, happy marriage!  Welcome to Marriedville!

IIDA Fashion Show: Color Couture 2011

IIDA (Internation Interior Design Association) presented this year’s Color Couture Fashion Show at Bartel Hall and it was a BLAST!

When I first found out about this event months ago, I knew I wanted to be a part of it.  The contributing local design/architecture companies selected an employee to be a model and that model presented attire that was made at least 70% from building/design materials (like vinyl blinds, carpet, laminate swatches, drapes,  etc).  The creative juices were absolutely bursting every where from the models to the colorful ceilings and walls.  I had so much fun.

And what would a fashion show be without a red carpet section…well, pink carpet in this case.Have I ever mentioned how much I love our city?  Well…I do. 🙂

Lawrence Weddings: Introducing Bobby & Sam Hamilton

The cold and rain are no match for the super-powers of Bobby & Sam’s wedding!

Sexy Sapphire!!!!Love note from Bobby = water works  🙂Now THAT is multi-tasking!  GO BOBBY!This image made me do a double-take when going through all the images.  I found it funny…  “Where’d she go?” should be the title. Oh Sam…I’m so sorry…I could NOT resist sharing this.  Notice when you fall where your hand goes. BAHAHAHA…and then notice Bobby’s facial expression right after.  HILARIOUS!!!Austin, you crack me up!BOBBY!!!!  Look! That woman had to make a mad dash to get her children out of harms way with you terrorizing the streets.  🙂I definitely have some of my favorite places I’ve shot past weddings/receptions, and Fall Leaf Farm is now on that list.  It’s not exactly the typical venue, but that’s what gives it extra character points.  It was just a really neat, laid-back location for an outdoor wedding.  Sometimes the wrong focus can be so right.  Shanon, your facial expression is fabulous!  You looked stunned.  And that little boy on the right looks scared.  Maybe he’s wondering if Bobby’s going to get Sam’s coodies.  🙂Best wedding dip EVER!  Sam, Bobby…I had a fantastic day with you and all your family and friends!  Congratulations!!!!  Enjoy the teasers, there’s more where that came from. 🙂

Kansas City Weddings: Jen + Kennie + Bella

Anyone who attended Kennie & Jen’s wedding already knows…to everyone not as fortunate, it was a kick-ass-awesome-fantastic-supercalifragilistic-rad day!

Kennie’s mother lost her battle with breast cancer about 5 years ago, but that shouldn’t keep her from being photographed on her son’s wedding day.  As luck should have it, the salon was directly across the street from the cemetery she was laid to rest.  Since there was a little free time, I had Jen give me some directions of where to find Denise and I set off to search.  Easier said that done!  I had actually given up trying to find her, and started to walk back when the sun poked out and make something sparkly catch my eye.  Right in front of Denise’s grave was a clear plastic bracelet full of silver glitter.  Gave me the chills…in a good way, of course.   Started off the stylish-shin-dig at the uber cool Vital Salon in Gladestone, MO.  HOW CUTE are those flip flops!  One of the most stylish wedding hairstyles I’ve ever had the priveledge to capture.  LOVE LOVE the contrast of hair color and the accents! And while the girls were getting purdy…the boys were up to no good. 🙂The picture on the right cracks me up EVERY SINGLE TIME I look at it.  It’s contagious!A stylish wedding just wouldn’t be complete without the talented arrangements of Emma-Ray! ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!  STUNNNNNNNNNING!Just as we were about to get back on the trolley and head to our next stop, Kennie spontaneously takes off into a full-on sprint after a group of bicyclists rolls by.  They are TOTAL strangers, but he wanted to snag a photo-opp with them…and there just happened to be a guy just as spontaneously crazy as Kennie and decided to lift him up for the shot.  🙂  I love the little random things in life. There is absolutely no rhyme or reason for this shot.  Just thought it would be fun….and it was! 🙂   Hey Snotty (which was my pet-name for the bridesmaid in the back right jumping up), you made this shot awesome!  Just had to give you a shout-out.AND OH MY THAT SKY!!!!!  The weather was perfectly designed for our photo-time.  It was a monsoon directly after the ceremony, but as soon as my camera was ready for action, the rain left and gave us the wedding gift of sun and dramatic sky backgrounds.  YEAH!Kennie!!!!!!!!!!!  I’m your biggest FAN!!!!!Where’s Kennie? And I mustent forget to mention the glorious reception venue, The Foundation!  I’m in love!  A sort of modern, rustic, art zone that transformed into a charming event location.  Perfect for Jen and Kennie! And MAJOR MAJOR Props to Julie Blanner of Coordinately Yours Event Design & Planning. Hats off to her and her assistant who put together an event that definitely turned heads.  AMAZING!!!CAUGHT YA! heheheAnother favorite ring shot to add to my collection!!!!  LOVE LOVE LOVE!Oh Jen…Kennie…Matt and I still can’t get over the fun adventure that was your wedding day.  Every person and every detail made it one of a kind in our hearts….and cameras.  09.10.11 will be remembered quite fondly as the day the Pauley’s ROCKED OUR WORLD!  Love you guys!
