Lawrence | Weddings | Paige + Dustin

Amore.

This was the most beautiful gesture I’ve seen during a ceremony.  A simple kiss to her hand after he put on her ring.  It was unexpected, lasted a short moment, and will forever be a lasting impression in my memory of Dustin & Paige.

Long friends and fans of Click Photography might recognize this little lady.  😉

The Eldridge is a one of a kind Gem.  This was a photograph of the building waaaaaaaaaay back when…when the cars looked like something out of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

And here’s another one of a kind gem.  🙂

Paige…you are stunning.  Just stunning.

Ok…so I didn’t know this till after the fact, but did you know that The Eldridge Hotel is known to be haunted?  I thought this was a cool picture of the hallway…but now it sort of sends a chill down my spine.

I’ve been eager to personally experience the awesomeness that is Richard of All Ears Mobile DJ.  I first met him a little over a year ago, heard him sing bring briefly, and knew instantly that he was amazing.  I’m so glad that his voice and musical skills were chosen by Paige & Dustin.

Yes…this again.  So good.  Enough said.

For those Jayhawks out there, this looks familiar, eh?  This was the ever charming Danforth Chapel on the KU Campus.

Chris cracks me up in this one.  Not sure why exactly…maybe because he looks deliriously happy.  🙂

Dustin is one of the Lawrence Fire Department….so yeah, we brought the photogoodness to the station.  OH YEAH!

Can’t put out THIS fire!!!!  The HOTNESS!!!!

…and more Hotness…not exactly the pleasant kind…but we survived the blaze to tell another tale. 🙂

The multi-ridiculously-talented Lacy (Dustin’s sister…also know by me to be “Sweet Cakes”…and I am her “Sweet Cheeks”, hahaha), custom made the most fabulous cakes.  So fabulous, it was hard to cut into and thus destroy the artwork.

I’ve shot several weddings in Lawrence, however had never shot, or even visited, Pachamamas.  WOW!!!!  I’m hooked.  First, they have such a BEAUTIFUL atmosphere in their event area.  This image above shows the amazing wall of back-lit flowers.  SOOOOO PRETTY.  And Second, the food was so good I just about licked my plate clean.  YUM YUM!

The Deathe family are no strangers to my camera, and the Shultz family was every bit as wonderful.  I was in very good company all day long, and it was such a gratifying work day for me and Matt.  …Paige, Dustin…we absolutely adore you both and wish you a happy marriage.

Kansas City | Weddings | Craig + Jennie

WARNING!  HOT WEDDING ALERT!

No….seriously…it was Hot!  Both visually and literally.  🙂

Have I ever mentioned my LOVE of Converse All Stars?  Let me explain…you know how some girls go shopping and find some badass heels that are so AWESOME that they suffer the blisters and blood to wear?  Well…that’s me and converse (mostly since I can’t walk in heels without looking drunk).  I have unnaturally WIDE duck feet…and converse All Stars are designed for narrow-to-normal shaped feet.  🙁  Such is life.  When I buy converse, I truly suffer the pain to break them in and stretch them out to MAKE THEM FIT!  Think of the scene from Cinderella where the evil stepsisters are trying to force the shoe to fit…..that’s me.  That’s how much I love them.  They are a simple, bold, badass statement on feet…and I LOVE THEM!  When I arrived and saw that this was the shoes of all the Groomsmen, …oh YESSSSSSS!  Gotta get me some of that Converse lovin’ in these pictures.  🙂

In other awesomeness…I had ample time and access to the Groom’s suit….and it was SUPA STYLIN’ in Grey and Orange…so Why not give it its dues.  Give it as much photo-lovin’ as the beautiful Gown.

And then upon taking this image, in the love of cinema, I couldn’t help but think of Beetle Juice.  🙂

Since I’m shoe sharing…thought my wide-duck-feet should be included.  Jennie & Craig demanded invited me to wear my converse.  * HUGE SMILE *

Oh what treasures you find on other peoples’ fridges.  🙂  I first noticed the “Follow your Dreams” part….then saw the “Why Not”….and then the red text was last. So funny!  Why not?

Some last minute sewing of the custom-made garter belt.

Lazy dogs.

Two weeks ago these dogs would barely let my camera near them….but with all the people in the house and commotion, they could care less.  HAHAHAHA

Such a beautiful setting for an outdoor wedding.  Too bad it was so hot you could fry an egg on the sidewalk. But still beautiful nontheless.

BEST programs EVER!!!!  Craig & Jennie really did some amazing things to personalize their wedding.  So cute!

Time out….you’ve seen some very pretty pictures of their ceremony.  Now take a look at the conditions those were taken.  And Actually, had I photographed my car’s console 5 minutes previous, when we first jumped in to leave Berkley Riverfront Park…it said 115 degrees.  WHOA MAMA!  I think that sets the record of of HOTTEST wedding I’ve ever photographed in my career.

Then we headed over to The Foundation…and got to play around in their upper level.  Red Bath Tub…yes please!

This was not planned, but absolutely perfect….as Craig & Jennie are already married and have been for about a year.  They got married just before Craig was shipped over seas…so this “one year later” couldn’t be more awesome!

What do you think?  Did I get on their bad side? HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

I have to give a shout-out to Frankie at HyVee.  This Groom’s cake was amazing!  I’ve watched quite a bit of Cake Boss and this was the first time where I experience that level of cake-daw-dropping presentation that you get when you watch that show.  Craig is a firefighter and this cake really showed off our appreciation.  Kuddos Frankie!!!!

As special of a day this way, it can not go without saying that it was shared by Jennie’s parents.  This was also their wedding anniversary…and they were given a special anniversary cake and speech to signify vows.

Again with Jennie’s personalization.  The Foundation always seems to have the most amazing new and ever-changing ceiling art, but this time Jennie personalized it with some beautiful and sparkly hand-made chandeliers.

And the “Best Dance Move of The Night” goes to Craig and his Best Man!  OH YESSSSSSSSSS!

BAHAHAHAHAHAHA

We <3 The Richey’s!   No other couple, wedding party, and family could rock out 111 degree photo-awesomeness like you did.  It was quite the celebration!  You guys are fabulous!

Oh, and I didn’t take a pictures of it (wish I had), but thank you to Carly & Adam (my lovely Bride & Groom from 2010…and gracious neighbors of Craig & Jennie) for letting us hog their driveway.  🙂

Kansas City | Family | Hengler

The Adventures of The Hengler Family!

Our session was July 4th, at 8:30am and we decided to venture somewhere we’ve never shot…Livestrong Sport Park .  Of course, when we arrived, there was not a single cloud insight, and next to zero shade…and if you can remember, it was quite the heated day. …so we drove around to the side, parked in an abandoned restaurant in order to walk over.  Sometimes though, you don’t have to search any farther than a parking lot for great photo opportunities.

It was a tad windy…HAHA

So this was right about the time where a security guard found us and an told us that being on the property unannounced was a National Security Threat.  I’m thinking “Oh great, are we going to get a ticket? A fine?  Arrested?  Interrogated?  Cavity Searched? “…yes, my mind is a bit dramatic at times.  Luckily, this guard was super sweet and told us to drive around to the other side, sign in, and then he gave us a few minutes access to take pictures INSIDE the stadium!!!!  YES PLEASE!!!!

Shawnee | Family | Zaydren turns 1

Our original session date was actually about a month ago but got rescheduled…and the best day happened to be Zaydren’s ACTUAL birthday!  YEAH!  So, this was an extra special session.

My gosh!  Are those cheeks just waiting for me to pinch them or what?!  What a HAM!

Future Basketball star! OH YEAH!

What’s a first birthday without a cake smash?!  Handmade yummy goodness by mom.  I snuck a piece that managed to be unharmed during the cake smash, and it was DELICIOUS!

When we were all finished and about to clean up, Zaydren walked right up to me and landed his messy paws on my leg.  The aftermath happened to look like a butterfly.  Reminds me of I Am Legend.

Shawnee | Family | Regan turns 1

Larissa & Brent made this beautiful creature last year, if you remember her newborn awesomeness.  Time for some first birthday celebrations at Shawnee Mission Park!  Another EARLY session, btw.

She brought the cute level to the top notch level!  That Giraffe might think otherwise though.  hehehe

She doesn’t much like to get dirty, so we weren’t sure if she’d even touch the cake…but alas, she made a new chew toy out of the candle…and got messy in the process.  🙂

She didn’t much appreciate Dad’s clean-up process. HAHAHAHAHA  Good thing there was a lake to dip her in….and with the hot summer, the water was juuuuuuust right.

It was great to see you guys again and a fun session as usual!
