Shawnee | Engagement | Koula + Brad + Lucky

Ok…so at first glance you might be distracted by the ridiculously gorgeous couple.  Yes…it IS distracting.  But what we were going for in this shot was actually what is on their shirts.    Nice, eh?  Rivals.  🙂

What could possibly more adorable than Koula and Brad?  I can think of only one other thing….something Lucky.

Lucky is as cute as a toy…and guarded as a Lion. HAHAHA

This is Lucky’s normal resting place.  SO CUTE!!!!

Thanks Koula & Brad for spending your evening with me!  More awesomeness awaits!

Olathe | Family | Harshbargers

I ♥ The Harshbargers!  So of course, it’s icing on my camera to include the Mullens and Adams!!!

This was a particularly special day as they were celebrating Lianne’s (aka Lance’s Mom) 70th Birthday!

I swear this group of kids looks like they were casted by a modeling agency.  This family has a wealth of good looks.  …even with the Diabolical Smiles from Shane. HAHAHAHA

This looks familiar.  I have 2 sisters, and ONE brother.  Oh brother.  🙂

Thought this was really cute…everyone put together some of Lianne’s favorite things.  It was fun to look through it all.

Thanks so much for having me out to the party on such a beautiful day!  HAPPY BIRTHDAY LIANNE!!!!!!

Shawnee | Engagement | Erin + Chris

Erin & Chris have such a bright & delightful aura about them.  It was so easy slipping into photo mode with them as they just fit together so well and it shines through.

In case anyone is interested, THIS was at Shelter #1 at Shawnee Mission Park.  I’ve been to this park a million times, visited and shot all around there…but apparently this little jewel of an area slipped right on past me.  Frustratingly, I ended up late to our session because I couldn’t find it.  Things have a way of working out though…and had we started just a tad earlier, I might not have had the chance to play around in the Shelter with the evening shelter lights on.  This, btw, is going to be their wedding reception site…so we definitely will have fun matching up some pictures once they are all dressed up.

Had we also started just a bit earlier, we might not have had THIS!!!!  OH YESSSS!!!  Love me some sunset sky.

Ok…can’t take full credit for this shot.  It was a test shot that happened while Erin & Chris played around (they are so fun and playful)…and while scanning through the images taken, I just kept coming back to this one.  I hereby declare this one is my favorite of the bunch (which is bold considering there are so many competing for that declaration).  It is not in focus, it is not crisp…but it has movement, it has soul, and it was real.  This picture reminds me that photographs can be perfect exactly as they are…if you can feel the moment.

My gosh…I sound like a hippy in this post, but it truly was a great experience hanging out with Chris & Erin and them allowing me to take my camera and play.

Shawnee | Portraits | Josh + Brittnay

Crankin’ up the heat…early morning style. Oh yesssss.

Josh & Brittnay = worth gettin’ up early

Silly puppy.  …giving me the Gene Simmons look. 🙂

And I thought babies were fun to toss. HAHAHAHAHAHAHASo adorable!

Ok, I admit…I slightly hate Brittnay.  She is drop dead GORGEOUS!!!!  (Brittnay, I said “slightly”…you have inner beauty to match…so I just can’t hate)

Thanks for getting up early for me….TWICE.  😉

Union Station | Bridal Show | 2012

Sunday’s Perfect Wedding Guide “Engaged At Union Station” was a trip!  I’ve never seen anything like it.  Truly an awesome day shared with Kansas City’s future Brides & Grooms….and Mother’s of the Bride, and Sisters, and Bridesmaids…and even some of my past Brides stopping by to say hello while there with their engaged friends (LOVE THAT!).  Thank you to everyone that came to the show and stopped by my little area to look around and say hi.
