Kansas City | Wedding | Amy + Patrick

I am over the moon for Amy & Patrick…one of the most ridiculously fun and spontaneous couples I’ve ever met. I mean…you can get that from their mini engagement session I did earlier this year.  Any time I’m around them, I leave with sore cheeks from laughing.  As an added bonus…their wedding was at The Starlight Theatre AND we planned a trip with the wedding party to walk around the Kansas City Zoo before the ceremony.

Patrick….you are HILARIOUS!

I love the yellow camera off to the side…extra awesome for me.  🙂

If only there were a picture of Patrick pretending to push me in the water, HAHAHAHA!  My reaction was pure terror. 🙂

Parkville | Magazine | Peddlers Wagon

I grew up with my crafty mother always working on some kind of sewing project.  My siblings and I still tease her because she would start a project and it would take years and years to finish.  In fact, she JUST finished my sister’s (who is now 26) baby quilt about a year ago….so yeah…some projects take longer than others.  I can relate…as I think that bad habit has been slightly passed down to me….though I don’t take over 2 decades to finish, haha.  I’ve actually only made one small baby quilt, for my daughter, and it was a simple square quilt design…but I can see why quilting is such a popular craft.  Real quilters, hobbyists or pros, have mad skills and the designs are total works of arts….and Peddler’s Wagon is definitely the place to go for supplies.  They have EVERYTHING a quilter could want.  Check out the article that I photographed for Northland Lifestyle’s Magazine HERE.

Gladstone | Magazine | Kates Kitchen

A few years ago, a friend of mine asked me out to breakfast at Kates Kitchen.  I was in love at first bite!  Fast forward to a couple months ago and I was asked to photograph that same legendary Gladstone restaurant.  As if I wasn’t already hooked on the food, I discovered its a family owned business…and not just any family…a really really awesome and friendly Overland Park family.  In fact, they even named the restaurant after their daughter, who used to love playing around in her toy kitchen as a little girl.  Check out the magazine article I photographed for HERE.

Platte County | Magazine | The Platte Land Trust

I can’t help but think of the Joni Mitchell song, Big Yellow Taxi, when I met the founders of The Platte Land Trust.  I feel very nieve that I’d never put much thought into the beautiful nature areas surrounding my community, and just thought that they were a standard.  Little did I know that there’s a behind the scenes team that fights to make sure those areas are there and protected.  From parks, to trails, to just fields of natural brush.  Makes me want to go outside and breathe in the fresh air.  Check out the magazine article I photographed for HERE.

Kansas City | Greek Wedding | Koula + Brad

What do you get when you put a GORGEOUS GREEK GODDESS and a AMBERCROMBIE-MODEL-LOOKIN’ GUY together?  Koula and Brad in μεγαλείο (which means Greatness in Greek)!!!!  I was so pumped up for this wedding!  I’ve gotten to know Koula and Brad a bit from their engagement session, and they’ve expressed how important their family is…and they didn’t exaggerate.  I was completely inspired with how connected and fun their family is when they’re all together.

And we must mention the guest of honor….LUCKY!!!!!!

What do you do when you realize that the Groom’s pants have ripped apart at the crotch area?  You recruit the best man, who is a military trained MacGyver type, to fix the problem.  This guy was amazing…

And even finished it off flawlessly with a pink lighter.  See what I mean?! MacGyver!!!!   🙂

Ok…so I adored Brad before…but this has got to the cherry on top.  As a surprise gift to Koula..he had a friend deliver a sweet love note and the most sparkly pair of diamond earrings I’ve ever seen.  So sparkly they could blind in sunlight.  Koula is a lucky lady.

Heeeelllllloooooo Handsome!

Stunning!  Koula is a classic beauty, in and out.

The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Christian Church is so beautiful…my camera ate up the intricate details and all the colors of the sanctuary   Ok…I’ve taken a ton of images that I am extremely fond of …but this one of my favorites of all time.  It is so simple and yet so intense with awesomeness.  <3

And this has to also be on my short list of favorites…this was about 5-6 images put together to create a super high quality panoramic of Koula’s family (of course the blog compressed image file doesn’t do it justice).  This is the kind of image that is timeless.

Oh…and what’s this?  The audio deliciousness and dance floor crowd that can only be produced by DJ Fernando.  I have done a few weddings now with DJ Fernando….let me tell you why I love him so…

…because of this!  He pulled off a killer Harlem Shake!!!!  🙂  …and seriously…he is one of the very very best in the industry.  Never lets me down with a kickin’ party.
