Lees Summit | Wedding | Angela + Casey

Oh boy….where to begin….I have so much to say about this wedding adventure.  Well…first and foremost…

I <3 Angela & Casey.

And…

They <3 each other…

sooooooooo much!

I can’t really and truly describe how awesome it was to get to photograph them and all their family and friends.  Hopefully these captures give more insight.  I knew before this day even started that it was going to be so ridiculously amazing because of the fabulous engagement session experience.  There is something so unique about how connected Angela and Casey are…and oh my…I’m going to say it…yes….here it comes….the cheese factor is coming out….The are made for each other.  Yes, I kind of hate myself a little for the cheese factor….but its so so true.  And, as a wedding photographer…it is like candy to a kid.  They were affectionate, loving, fun, playful…if cameras could dream, this one came true.  YESH!  Cheese alert!  Seriously, what is wrong with me!?!

Absolutely and completely 200% BEAUTIFUL!  Inside and out.

Hey Handsome!!!!  Angela’s a lucky girl.

And check out these hotties!  I am obsessed with this blue color.  It’s the most cheerful color blue out there.

Well…hello.

HAHAHAHA, These guys crack me up!

Stunning group!

This was my first time shooting at Lone Summit Ranch out in Lees Summit, but I very much hope its not my last.  Not only is it one of the most beautiful and relaxing properties, the staff is amazing!

This has to be one of my absolute favorite shots from the whole day.  It’s so real, it’s so love.

What would make the great wedding greater, you ask?  Nerf or Nothin’

Girls gone NERF!

BAHAHAHAHAHA

Kate is the new Champion of “Best Dance Moves” in our book.

Great couple, beautiful wedding day, nerf gun battle, best dance move ever…is there more?

Hells yes.

Ok…I’m especially proud of this last shot.  Big shout out to everyone involved to pull this off.  This image is made up of about 16 images that were taken as the daylight was fast fading…so the technically difficult photographic captures were also an added challenge.  But it’s so worth it.

Columbus, Ohio | Wedding | Warden

Once upon a time I worked at Wal-Mart…wow, and just now as I type, I think back and realize just how many awesome people I met and built relationships with from my time working there.  Even my mother-in-law worked there.  One other was my friend, Christy.  I later got a pretty sweeeet job as a front desk representative at a local hotel…and Christy followed….and then continued to met more awesome people.  I have to say, working at the hotel was one of the most enjoyable jobs I ever had.  Anyway…fast forward a bit…and Christy finished college and moved away.  It’s been many years now, but I was thrilled and humbled when she called me to say she was getting married and wanted me to capture the day.  Again it’s been years…but she’s still the same charismatic girl I knew.  I miss her.

Oh…and check it out…11:30p the night before my 6:00am flight out to Columbus, I decide to stay up late and DIY an fabulous hanger with Christy’s new last name.  I’m actually still shocked that I did it on the first try.  YEAH FOR ME!  …and YEAH, She had such a beautiful dress and is displayed so so good on the hanger.

….Aaaaaand, it made for a great prop for the jewelry, which can sometimes be tough to arrange all together for a picture.  I love when things have multiple purposes.  😉

This is a neat little thing I wanted to include..it’s Christy’s gift to her mother.  BRILLIANT!!!!

What a good helper he was!  🙂

Time for war paint.

Two of the most important gals in her life….longtime Bestie, Traci…and proud mama, Marty.

And the man who’s won over Christy’s heart….Ryan.  <3

Admittedly, he doesn’t like being in front of the camera…but that handsome smile gave me what I needed.  Thank you Ryan!

And Christy… in a word:  Beautiful

Wowzas!!!  Hello Hot BABES!  Raaarrrrr

…and yes, that happened. PHOTOBOMB!

Oh and they look so cute and innocent….WAHAHAHAHA!!!  Just kidding, they actually were as kind and cute as they looked.

Yesssssssss!!! SCORE!!!  Caught the first set of tears!  This truly had me on the edge of my own tears….I try to bottle it up…because as a photographer it is sort of a requirement to be able to see what I’m doing.  But…this moment made it tough.

First act as wife…cleanup duty.  🙂

I love this image….Ryan & Christy are HUGELY fond of their families….very tightly woven…and I found this one sentimental as she looked back at all her loved ones in attendance.  So sweet.

ADORABLE!!!!  I want to pinch cheeks!

Let the party begin…

This blog post wouldn’t be complete without mentioning some of the familiar faces I’m so fond of from my past.  Remember the local hotel I worked at as a teenager?  Well…this is Jerry & Shirley, the owners.  Good people that made my day to be able to see them again.

And I already mentioned Traci (Christy’s Bestie) but Traci and her amazing husband, Eric, were clients of mine from 2006!!!!   In fact…I have to give a shout out to Eric for his help on the wedding day.  He’s a good photographer himself, so I gave him a camera and put him to work.  HAHAHA  Thanks Eric!!!

I couldn’t be happier for Christy and Ryan, and wish them the very best!!!!

Kansas City | Engagement | Natasha + Brett

A little bit of engagement, a little bit of family, but a lot about Love….which that last part actually doubles as a pun since Natasha’s new last name will be Love.  How awesome is THAT?!  Who wouldn’t want to be named Mrs. Love!

And couldn’t resist sharing this one….someone got caught kissing with her eyes open.  HAHAHAHA

Well Hello cutie pie!

Such a good lookin’ bunch.

Kansas City | Engagement | Jessica + Dan

One of the coolest compliments I have received has been from Jessica and Dan…and it was something along the lines of “You’re our kind of crazy.” HAHAHA   Let’s just say I think I fell in love with them at that moment.  🙂

Just look at them….they are SUPER happy!  Reason #108 as to why I love them.

Their impromptu gestures are reason #251 why I love them.

Oh…and I MUSTACHE you a question…  hehehe

BAHAHAHAHAHAHA…I turn around from shooting Dan and THIS is what I see!!!!!  Reason #342

Reason #1 million

And Reason #Infinity

Love these guys.  It was very very sad news to hear that Jessica’s father had a sudden terminal illness very recently.  While he was still able, they decided to spontaneously get married in the hospital chapel so that he could still walk Jessica down the isle.  Unfortunately I was out of town for the occasion so I wasn’t able to capture those moments…but I am grateful that they were able to experience that with her Father before he passed away.  Their original wedding day is right around the corner and we are still going to rock it out…it will be a celebration of life and all those they’ve loved.  I can’t wait.

Parkville | Magazine | Welcome to Parkville

I was asked to photograph the Parkville area for Northland Lifestyle Magazine’s May 2013 article “Welcome to Parkville”, and since it’s my home base…don’t mind if I do.  🙂  Of course when you photograph for any print publication, it needs to be done at least a month in advance…and its sort of amazing to look at just how much the trees and grass greened in that month.  Kind of a bummer, because downtown Parkville is such a BEAUTIFUL place, especially when it’s in bloom.
