Kansas City | Wedding | Jessica + Dan

Congratulations to Jessica & Dan!

This was a tough wedding emotionally.  Both Jessica and Dan are two of the most easy going, happy people I have come across.  I loved them from first chat.  It was especially sad to learn that while they were trying to plan a grand celebration of their wedding day, Jessica’s father was going through a rough battle with cancer.  They kept their hopes up and prayers going…but unfortunately they came to a point where they feared he wouldn’t make it to their wedding day.  It was very important to Jessica to have him be witness and walk her down the isle, so they planned a new wedding with 24 hours and “actually” got married on May 18th.  Unfortunately for me, I was over 1000 miles away photographing another wedding and couldn’t be there for her, but this is the image that I opened up in an email the next day and made me smile.  Not only did her father get to see his little girl get married, but he, at that point, was still well enough to walk her down the isle.  He passed away 11 days later, so it was such a blessing that she had that moment with him.  Jessica-quick-wedding

So, their original wedding date, June 29th, was a sort of “Part 2″…and a very enjoyable, happy day.

On this day, in her Dad’s stead, her brother escorted her down the isle.  Yes….there were definitely tears.  Good tears.  Lots of love.

So honored to be a part of their Special Day “Part 2”.

Church of Latter-Day Saints | Wedding | Jaela + Josh

Jaela & Josh drove all the way from Oklahoma to get married at one of the most beautiful churches in Kansas City, the Church of the Latter-Day Saints.

They drove in the day before their wedding so we could do a quick portrait session.  Of course, we can’t control our crazy midwest weather…so we basically had to roll the dice and hope that the massive thunder storm would happen to miss the church area.  And we got mostly lucky…when we arrived, we decided to be quick.Click-Photography_kansas-city_weddings_Mormon_2013_Sederholm-1001

While we were busy taking gorgeous pictures, we had to face this little storm that appeared to be heading right towards us.

Don’t they look AMAZING!!!!  I love love their color choices, too!

After I said good-bye so they could rest up before their wedding, I noticed a little bit  lightning activity…so I decided to try my patience at capturing some.  Let’s just say, it took a lot of patience, because it wasn’t a super active lightning storm….but I did manage to get this one.  YEAH!  SUCCESS!Click-Photography_kansas-city_weddings_Mormon_2013_Sederholm-1017Click-Photography_kansas-city_weddings_Mormon_2013_Sederholm-1018
