The Blossoming Gast Family!

I know it may sound redundant…but dang, kids grow so fast! I have known and photographed both Luke & Katelynn since they were newborns. I adore this family. This session was Michael’s 10 year anniversary gift to Michelle. I think he definitely scored “awesome husband” points for this. 🙂

Alright…it’s all fun and games until someone has to actually get married. Time for the ceremony…

yup…that surreal moment when it hits you. One of my fondest things to witness and capture.

Everyone was super excited and jumping up and down after the ceremony…like their high school football team just won a championship! 🙂

Kylie is cool and collected, and her amazing blue eyes are the same. She ROCKED these portraits! Oh, and thank you to this super neat Pakistani Bus that was parked at The Nelson. Love the colorful background, and the blues go so well with her eyes. …yes…I’m obsessed with her eyes!

One of my favorite things to do is get the mom in front of the camera. Most protest with excuses of bad clothing or no makeup…but I politely plead…beg… and most give in. I truly believe that photographs that portray relationships are 100x more sentimental than a great portrait of someone alone. As a mother of two kids, 9yrs & 13 yrs, I can say I’m just like most moms out there…I have fallen off the wagon of photographing ordinary, everyday kinds of pictures that show us as a family. If it weren’t for my camera phone, I probably wouldn’t have much from the last couple years. SHAME SHAME! So when I see a great relationship, I try to cease the opportunity. I love these two pictures of Kylie and her mother. Makes me smile and inspires me to take more pictures with my daughter. 🙂

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this session! I love this family! I even love the day and time, even though it is usually a big no-no to shoot at noon and when it feels like a 1000 degrees outside. Luckily for us, Gwen was happy and smiles, and the rest of the family was easy and fun to photograph. We captured a fantastic image collection in no time at all.

Couldn’t resist….I think just about every baby or toddler I’ve ever photographed has been waving around their middle finger at me. HAHAHAHA I have to keep my collection going.

If I remember right, these two sweethearts were just about to celebrate a big anniversary, and for the life of me I can’t remember which one. They are the kind of couple my husband and I aspire to be.

Me: …something like… “So what’s the secret to your successful, long, happy marriage?”

Him: ….something like….”You just have to keep the little lady in line.”

HAHAHAHAHA Honestly, can’t remember exactly what we were talking about, but figured it was a fitting caption. 🙂

Such a great couple!

Oh…and then I asked him to give his hot wife a kiss…bare in mind Chelsea’s Dad was standing just a few feet away. Just a little intimidating…or just awkward…

So it made for a really good laugh!

On one of the most beautiful days in September, one of the most sweet and sexy couples got married.

Josh & Vienna…

I am obsessed with Cheese!!!! Love love love Cheese. Vienna gave me a slice of some of this cheese she got from (I think it’s called) The Better Cheddar on the Plaza….Oh my! It was love at first bite.

This was exactly the first moment of the day that I noticed this little devices. I’ve seen little video cams before, so I didn’t think much of it. I saw the devices in peoples hands here and there, but again…that’s pretty typical at weddings. Vienna had mentioned something about having someone video, but I didn’t quite piece together what she told me and what I saw until actually a couple weeks after their wedding….when I had a bridal show booth across from a company called Burlap Events. As I walked over to talk to my expo neighbors, we both realized we looked familiar…and then BAM. We connected the dots and realized that we shared Josh & Vienna as clients. THAT’s where all those little video cams came from. I had never heard of a type of service that Burlap Events provides, but I think it’s a spectacular idea! It’s simple, small, documenting, and their videos they put together are awesome memories from all sorts of different perspectives on the wedding day. Their motto: “We ship. You Shoot. We Edit.” LOVE IT!
